On the 28th October 1852, the ship “Helena” left Hamburg, Germany, its destination Sydney, Australia with 185 immigrant passengers aboard. Almost all the males on board were vine dressers and came from the rural section of that country. Among the passengers were 27 year old Frederick Emert and his young wife Rosine. Read their story.
